Yogyakarta Day 4

Breakfast in our hotel.
Waffles and egg counter.
After breakfast, we walked around the city and met a local who is a teacher chatting with us and recommended some place not to miss in Jogja.
He negotiate a becak for us to take us to 3 places for 20,000rp. Usual price for tourist is around 50,000rp.
Batik Boutique
Then to a art gallery, lastly to Sultan palace.
So basically this is a square with a door closed...
We left in 10mins since nothing to explore here and I'm not a good negotiator. The becak driver charged us 50,000rp to back to Mediterranea Restaurant.
Ribeye Grilled (250g) with mashed potatoes and black pepper sauce 98,000rp
The steak don't look like 250g at all. Frozen steak generally don't taste good when grilled.
Creme Brulee with Javanese Vanilla 30,000rp
Avocado with Gula Melaka 19,000rp Slow Juice Carrot & Orange 25,000rp
After lunch, we walked to Prawirotaman Street.
The restaurant and cafe street.
Is this really the smallest handmade shop in the world?
The popular Via Via Cafe
La Creperie
Decent crepe
Crepe Caramel with Vanilla ice cream (30,000rp)
Ginger tea (10,000rp)
Sweet and savoury crepe available.
This place is packed with locals the night before, unfortunately is closed when we passed by.
Saarah Say Spa
Deep cleansing Facial 90mins + Massage 90mins 350,000rp
Body scrub + Massage 90mins + Pedicure 60mins 380,000rp
Although there is some hiccups in the process but the nice owner handled it professionally and we still enjoy the sessions.
150,000rp each. No menu.
Booking one day in advance is mandatory.
This was another highlight of our trip.
The host, Wim walked and showed us their house before our dinner.
Beautiful house approx 25,000sqft.
Dining in the patio, we were the only guest that night. If raining, the guest will be moved to their dining hall.
Chips and welcome drink
Free juice included in the set dinner.
Beer and wine will be 50,000rp per serving.
The bell for us to ring our server.
Starter: Ayam Soto
This is surprisingly GOOD!
Next come with 7 dishes with yellow rice.
The yellow rice with coconut milk is the best rice I had in Jogja.
The vegetables is very nice although I'm not a fan of veg.
The servings is very generous, easily can feed 4 pax.
Lastly, it comes with a dessert (banana kueh) and a traditional tea (garbage tea) to flush down.
After dinner, the server helped us called a taxi back to town. 25min journey cost us 55,000rp.
Next morning, we had early flight and left the hotel at 5am, 25mins drive to airport cost us 60,000rp.
It will be cheaper to get hotel to call a taxi rather than book the service in advance. Taxi is easily available so advance booking is not necessary.

Yogyakarta Day 3

We are back to Borobudur again.
We reached 5.50am waiting for the gate to open at 6am.
There isn't any sunrise that day and lucky we didn't buy the sunrise ticket:)
We head back hotel after an hour for our breakfast in our hotel.
Simple breakfast provided in hotel.
We started our journey with our driver at 9am.
DIENG PLATEAU
Arjuna Temple
Sikidang Crater
The sulphuric smell is very strong, many selling masks here.
Nothing much to explore if you have ever see a crater before.
Telaga Warna
Entrance fee: 150,000rp
This is the worst among all. Dirty lake + expensive entry fee.
We reached our hotel at 6pm.
Neo+Awana Yogyakarta Hotel
305,000rp p/night. Additional 33,000rp for breakfast of 2.
The breakfast spread is good in the hotel. The BBQ dinner buffet only 80,000rp.
Very new and clean hotel.
Excellent service and includes most facilities a room required. Highly recommend.
The hotel staff even arrange a doctor to visit me in my room. I had terrible stomach flu and was almost recovered just after a round of their medicine. Total cost for the house visit and medicine:  460,000rp.
This is the medicine that the doctor prescribed to me, first time 2 tablets, if go toilet again, straight away take another 1 tablet. After the 3rd tablet and I almost recovered! Like miracle!
