There are 2 places in Ubud for rafting, heard Ayung is for beginners.

The 2.5hrs rafting excluding transport cost 300,000rp.
Enjoyable and cheap rafting in Bali.

This is my team in our raft, Soo from Korea and Peter from Belgium.

After rafting, there is a buffet lunch and shower area to wash up.

The buffet actually quite decent.

This is highly recommended by my host and the reviews.

Warung Krisna
Mee goreng 26,000rp
This is bad, I could easily cook much better than this.

Warung Lemongrass

Banana fritter and juices 45,000rp

Sarawasti Yoga
75,000rp for 1hr

This is another nice place for Yoga when you are in Ubud.
Very nice  ambience but also very beginner class.

Since cannot find any average eateries here, come back to Warung Pondok Madu again.

Grilled chicken leg with kangkong and satay. 123,000rp
This round not as good, seems like only their signature grilled ribs is nice only.

Bali 2018, Day 2

Book this class for afternoon session, but the host change to morning the night before because there are another 1 couple prefer to join the morning....
I was pick up 8.15am in the morning but waited near 25mins for the other couple in the same class. This is why I dont really like for group tour, alot people have no sense of time.

Subak Cooking Class

This is definitely the worst cooking class I had attended.
Morning market tour, nothing much and very small market, not much recommendation from the host too.

The kitchen has plenty of fruit flies, the flies covered almost half of the vegetable that I nearly cannot see them. It is bad!
This is not a total hands on class, 3 of us was distribute to cook one dish each and end of the dish, he will fry again and adjust to his own taste. I believe most of us will prefer to adjust the taste on our own instead.

And all the dish was left one side till it cold before we can eat at the end of the class.
This is again unforgivable, who loves cold dish? This is not salad.

They use a lot Tempe in their Balinese dish.

Satay ingredient

The taste is worst than its look.
Hard and think dough.

All the dish will be placed on buffet style tray, using a fan blowing away all the flies.
To be honest, none of the food is nice except i managed to eat 2 sticks of satay when it is hot. Passable for satay.

Cooking class end about 12.30pm and host send us back to city centre.

Ubud market
Things are expensive here, mostly shop by tourist.
I ask the price for a mask and was quoted 800,000rp, when i left she immediate reduced down to 150,000rp. I didnt buy anyway, don't like to bargain so much.

Found this Warung with the help of TA, near Monkey Forest.
This is the only average eatery I have tried in Ubud, the rest is really bad here.

Warung Pondok Madu
150,000rp for a Grilled back ribs rice and their detox juice.



After dinner, went to a Havainnas shop and bougth 3 pairs of slipper @ 758,000rp.

 Then go for a massage at Jasmine Massage for 125,000rp for 90mins.
This massage parlour looks very plain n simple but the lady boss is really good at it.

Expensive and not nice.

Bali 2018, Day 1

Arrived Ngurah Rai International Airport around 1.20pm.
This time using Nani's recommendation, Tole @ +62 813 37374144.

400,000rp per day (according to him 8-12hrs), The first day only using 5 hours.

He is not a driver but he has a group of friends driving for him. The first day driver is not as good, he brought along a girl friend along and sitting at the back with me and my bag which I feel very uncomfortable. Keep talking to me and feel very tiring after the flight.

The initial arrangement not as smooth, I have sent him the places I wanted to go and he say ok. But the day itself he told me unable to make it as the traffic is very bad.

Before heading to attraction, we went for a simple lunch on our way.
Bought 2 of them lunch, 10 sticks of satay and mutton soup cost 50,000rp excluding drinks.
Not cheap on a random food stall, Bali eateries is pretty expensive comparing to other part of Indonesia.


First attraction:
Tanah Lot
Entry + car: 60,000rp + 5,000rp

Queuing up for their holy water.
*Do remember to bring a shawl to Bali, most of the temple require Salong for ladies.

Taman Ayun
Entry: 25,000rp

By the time we reach Ubud already about 7pm.

Pala House
My guesthouse for 3 nights @ 390,000rp.
Nice room but no aircon. Forget to check on this when booking.

After checking in, walk to the city centre around 5mins, most shop close at 8-9pm.
Found one tapas style warung and sit down for dinner.

Warung Biah Biah
23,400rp

After dinner, managed to find one homebased foot massage for 100,000rp 1hr.
Most shop are closed by then. Not happening for night activities here in Ubud.
