Florence

Today is a tiring day...
Exploring Pisa, Lucca and finally reached Florence at around 6pm.

Florence is the capital of Tuscany. It is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance and has been called the Athens of the Middle Age. It is also an important city in Italian fashion.

Albergo Bencidormi B&B
One of the best accommodation we had in Italy.
Spacious, modern, clean room with high ceiling.
Room 7
Only minus point is lack of hanging hooks.
Fully equipped kitchen with a PC for guest. Laundry can be done for 4eur per wash at near by Laundromat.
San Lorenzo Market

Duomo di Firenze

One of our favorite gelato @ Black Bar, near to Duomo.
Small one for 4.50eur, considering quite expensive comparing to other gelato.
Fragola and Panna Cotta flavor.
Both are equally nice.

Pizza Panini Calzoni Sala Interna

Nice pizza place @ Piazza del Duomo.
Wide variety pizza and charge by weight.
100g for 2.30eur
Piazza della Repubblica
Long Q at the Duomo
Florence Cathedral

Museo di Palazzo Vecchio
Another replica of David outside the museum.
Fountain of Neptune
Piazza della Signoria
Salvatore Ferragamo Museum
8.15am, long Q @ Galleria dell'Accademia.
Luckily we booked our ticket in advance online.
View from Uffizi Gallery
Uneven and badly maintained street in Florence.
Bargello Museum
Bar Vivoli
Quoted the best gelato in Florence...
100m away from Piazza Santa Croce.

We find it just very average gelato.

 Basilica of Santa Croce
We had our lunch at one of the café in Piazza della Repubblica.
We shared a ham and cheese Calzone (11eur).
 Street Art
Ponte Vecchio
Artisan gold jewellery shop on Ponte Vecchio.

 Santa Maria Novella
We joined a free tour starting from Santa Maria Novella.
(Everyday at 11am)
Shuttle bus to The Mall (5eur one way)
From Sita Bus Station
Nice salad form The Mall food court (8eur)
Unbelievable we spent 5 hrs in The Mall.

Had pizza at another pizza outlet. This one charge 3.50eur per piece.
Still prefer the previous one at Piazza del Duomo.
This is another popular gelato chain.
GROM
Long Q for their gelato, our host called it the "IN" gelato now in Florence.
GG had been thinking whether to ride the carousel for few days.
 Steps again to Piazza Michelangelo

This is a wonderful place, panorama view of the city.
Breezy and with some street musician playing their songs, we enjoyed staying here while waiting for sunset.
This is a MUST attraction when come to Florence.

Status of David
Replica in bronze

A long way down from Piazza Michelangelo.
Nice scene in Piazza Signoria
Symphony Orchestra
Had our late dinner (10.30pm) at RISTORANTE PIZZERIA IL BARGELLO
Pork Chop
Ragu Tagliatella al Ragu

Trattoria Nerone
Very near to our B&B. Nice ambience but terrible food.

Beef Gulash
Caborana Taglialette
 Damage from The Mall.
