Buying a combo ticket cost lesser.

Bus frequency every 10mins from Taipei bus station. Train will be more expensive and timing limited.
Bus configuration also good. Very spacious and clean seats.

Walk 5mins to train station.

Plan in advance, bus to Tarako Gorge only one every hour.

Have a quick bite while waiting for the bus.

Usually took 45mins to Tianxiang but there was road works and took me more than an hour to reach.
From Tianxiang, walk 20mins to Bai Yang Trail.

Baiyang Trail
Nice trail and lots of beautiful landscape to see.
Total 8 tunnels, last tunnel is a water curtain cave.

Do bring a small ziplop bag for handphone.
No shoes, water splashing from top.

2 bus back to Xincheng train station  or Hualien.
17min train to Hualien.
Hualien Train station underground
7mins walk to my hostel, Taiwan Panda Hostel.

Very value but away from city. approximately 15mins walk to city.
Clean and comfortable hostel.

Sweet potatoes ball with various flavor powder.
I had mine with coconut flavour.

南濱夜市
There is 3 night market together in this area. Quite a big place but not much nice food.

自强夜市
Only had this sausage (40NT) in this 3 night market.
Then book a taxi and go to 7-11 buy some snacks and beer back.
In Hualien, call and book 统一 (03-8460000) taxi, it cost 100NT per trip around the city, slightly cheaper than meter rate.
