Short Trip to Bangkok

2 To 5 March 2016
Check-in to Glow Pratunam Hotel.
Well located in Pratunam but quite pricey considering a few nearby boutique hotels offering just half the price.






 Pick up a pork stick in Phetchaburi Soi 19.
10baht each
 Lots of street food along the way the central world after 7pm.
 One of my favourite snack in Thailand

 Hua Mum Market (หัวมุม Market & More)
11 Kaset-Nawamin Rd,

4pm- 12mn (closed on Monday)
opposite The Walk Kaset-Nawamin.
Nice local night market, hardly see nay tourist here. Spacious and easy to walk around.
30-35mins drive from Pratunam.
Taxi charges us 400baht to come here. It seems like difficult to get a grab taxi in Siam area.

Finally saw the first one here in Bangkok.
First time having in Chiang Rai and was impressed.
75baht for a set including noodles, pork and vegetables.



 From Hua Mum Market to Roi Fai Ratchada getting a grab taxi only cost us less than 150 baht.
 This is the least interesting night market I went in this trip. Much smaller but nearer to town.

From our hotel walk 15-20mins to the famous Lobster Tom Yum.

Monday – Sunday 10 – 10 pm
There are no signboard except a small written paper on the display glass.
 The shrimp tom yum is really good.
Thick broth with a robust prawn flavour.
The other fish tom yum and egg rice is average.
After our breakfast, we go separate ways.
GG go shopping and I went to Silom for my food and then to forensic museum.
Took BTS to Sala Daeng Station, go inside the Silom Complex and exit the backside of the complex.
Walk another 100m and could see this small house filled with people waiting for their pad thai.

 The pad thai is pretty good.

  Just outside the back of Silom Complex, there is a hawker centre that sells alot of local food.
This is very nice too, 10baht per pcs


 Took BTS to Saphan Taksin station.
Took a boat (40baht) to Pier 10.



 From the Pier, walk 5mins to Siriraj Hospital.
Siriraj Medical Museum 
Entrance fee : 200baht
No photos allowed.

 After the museum, get a grab taxi back to hotel for around 150baht.
Crepe again :(
Chilli and pork floss flavour.
 Then we go to Big C supercentre, left our shopping bags back in hotel before heading to our dinner.
BTS to Victory Monument.

 Oops! Ours is consider one of the shortest stack there.
 From Victory Monument, grab taxi to Talad Rot Fai.

There are more than 2000 stalls here, at least reserve a few hours to walk around.
We were here on Thursday and not much people, easy to walk around.
Very interesting night market, item sold here is not the same as those we went before.

Remember to drop by here, very interesting and can take lots of ncie photos.

 Back to hotel and walk to Soi 19 for supper.
Buy back pancake (40baht) and pad thai.

Leave my baggage early to Hostel and get a grab ytaxi to Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai).
Boxpacker Hostel
450baht per night
Spacious cubicle with 2 wall plugs.
The bus counter is not open early in the morning.
Walk to platform 10 to buy ticket instead.
 Kanchanaburi
110baht per way, 2.5hours
 When reached, took bus bound for Thongphaphum or Sangkhlaburi.

 The bus without aircon can been not very comfortable when the weather is warm.
50baht per way, remember tell the bus conductor where you are going and they will remind you where to drop off.

 Entrance is free, 500baht deposit for rental of headphone or passport for deposit.





 Bridge on the River Kwai

Stop by a nearby restaurant and rest for awhile and booekd a mini van from their hotel back to Bangkok.
 JJ Green Night Market
This is night market is near Chatuchak, 15-20mins walk from main road.
The whole place is very packed with youngster. A couple of bars, pubs and cafe.
Hip and chic with loud music, very happening on Friday when I was there.
 Glad I found this tasty noodles in their food court.
Minced meat hot and spicy with little soup, 50baht

 Bought 1 scones (55baht) from Harrods, Siam Paragon.
The worst scones i ever had....:(

 This is the shortcut I walk over from Pratunam to Paragon.
Missed Chiang Mai Goreng Pisang!
 Check out hotel and walk to Siam Thai Massage for a last minute massage before leaving for airport.

#TIPS: Buy prepaid card in 7-11 cheaper than in Airport.
