Germany: Rothenburg- Nuremberg

Nuremberg City Wall
Ground level of Operhaus station

Found another bakery, cheaper option available..
Bot 2 pastry for breakfast, and brought smoothie from yesterday.
Spinach pastry and Schmalzkuchen (german doughnuts), inside with blueberry fillings.
Bought Tages ticket @ 19.10eur. Since there are still time, bought the Bavaria ticket for tomorrow. If buy at the ticket machine will be 25eur, at the ticket counter will be 27eur.

Today wake up early and reached Rothenburg around 1030am. Although there are 3 transfers but catching train in Germany is easy.
From Rothenburg train station, walk 9mins to Alstatt (Old town).
This is truly a romantic town, like a fairy tale town.

Eiscafe D'Isep
Saw this ice cream cafe and tried their creme Brulee and amaretto ice cream (2eur). Very good!! Shiok eating ice cream during winter n do not need to worry about the ice-cream melt.
The Italian chef brought out his Ameretto to show me he is using the original authentic Italian ameretto.

20m away, saw this bear sitting outside the wall blowing bubbles... nice...

Walk to the tourist information at the corner of the square and pick up a map. Nice walk around the city, only took over 1hr to finish the entire old town.

The Town Hall

St James Church

There are quite a few japanese restaurant in this town, I overheard a taiwanese tour guide said alot Japanese girls fell in love with this town and married to the local.

Der Roderturm

Schneeball
This is a traditional pastry from Rothenburg, you will need to smash it before you eat.
Dont understand how it works for this.... did not see the track moving....

Nuremberg train station (front)
Saw a queue to pick up free Schmalzkuchen and I joined in too...
This is rasberry fillings.
Back to nuremberg and visit 2 supermarket near my hostel, Aldi and Rewe. Both are big supermarket comparing the one in main station.
The baileys here cost much cheaper than duty free. Bought one at Schiphol airport for 14.50eur.
Tap 7 is so cheap here
Bought bockwurst (1.99eur), beer and some Milka chocolate (0.79eur) from Rewe and bring back to hotel.
Next took tram 6/9 outside main staion to Doku- Zentrum.

Documrntation centre for nazi rally parties ground (5eur).

If you like to just take this photo, no need to go through the center and route to the back of the building. entry is free.
The exterior of the building look similar as of colosseum.
I didn't finish the entire audio and come out in one hour. It can easily take 5-6 hours here. This time took their bus and transfer to Lorenzkirche station.

Went back to Kadstadt again and try out Steakpoint. Luckily met a local old man help me to translate the menu and recommend me nice wine. The dinner suppose to choose your preferred beef cut and pay a amount for the side, it Includes cooking fee as well.

Steakpoint

US steak (150g) 9.75eur
Sides (including cooking) 8.50eur
Shiraz (0.2l) 4.60eur

Total: 22.85eur
Beef nicely done and the garlic sauce (green) is excellent. Still not sure what is the green thing.... taste like some herbs...
Although the price is slightly on the high side but they do have some speciality items where I cnanot find in other supermarket.

This is the first time i saw such machine. Only realised Germany has recycled program in all supermarket. All plastic bottles water will charge additional 0.25eur, after finished the bottle will bring it to the supermarket, put it into the machine and they will issue a receipt fo refund. This ticket able to reimburse the purchase for next buy.

There is no additional charge on beer glass bottle.
After dinner, walked around near castle. The walk is very pleasant, super windy and saw all the leaves flying around.

St Sebald Church

After awhile, walked back to hostel just nice and digest the earlier meal:)
Tonight supper is Tap 7 and Currywurst.... Yummy!
