Fukuoka- Saga

Day 4

Finally got the chance to try out Matsuya. 7mins walk from hostel

Gyumeshi with spicy sauce (extra Green onion and egg), regular (400yen).
Cheap and nice meal
Took a bus to Hakata station.

Hakata Station
Bought a Sugoca card and the ticket to Saga (840yen).
1000yen with a 500yen deposit.
Yoshinogarikoen Station

Rent a bicycle (200yen) from the infomration centre.
Walking to the park takes 15-20mins, bicycle is easier and nice to ride along the fields.

Graveyard of the successive kings who governed Yoshinogari during the mid Yayoi period. Fourteen Kamekan (caskets) were discovered in this mould. Different from the other graves, many valuable burial furnishings such as glass tube balls and bronze swords were found in this graveyard.


People were buried into this jar in the late yayoi period. 15,000 were found when they excavated the ground.
Bought a green tea (140yen) from dispenser, still prefer green tea form Uji :P 

There were about 15 people in front of me but the queue was fast, takes only 20mins to get my turn.
had a Choarcoal grilled Hamburger, M (150g) 1166yen.
The beef is almost raw except seared slightly on the outside.
There are several malls in Hakata Station.
Refresher spray in the ladies restroom.
Had tried few Mentaiko and find this is the best. Did not buy as they only open 10am and need to leave early in the morning.
This mini croissant is pretty good. The second counter which had chocolate, almond and caramel seems more popular. 162-194yen per 100g.

Next, head to Tenjin by subway (260yen), 1 stop away.

Daimyo street
There are plenty of branded shops here, small alley and alot to explore.
Ippudo Honten (Main Shop)
The first shop of Ippudo.

Very small outlet, no need queue.

Ippudo Kasane (850yen)
This can only be found in their main shop.
Mentai Rice (370yen)

The bigger outlet in Nishi Dori.
Shintencho
There is Japanese knife specialise shop here.
The shops and shopping malls here closed at 8pm, very early. The place become dead town after 9pm. I slowly walked back to my hostel, took around 15mins.
Haruyoshi-bashi Bridge

Today is laundry day, decided to go back earlier to wash clothes.
While waiting for the laundry, went out for supper nearby.

Ni no Ni Gyoza
Full house everyday, just opposite my hostel. But they closed at 11.30pm.
Eventually choose to go to West.
There are many outlets around Kyushu. Specialise in Udon, 24hrs.
740yen for ebi tempura Udon.
Spring onion and tempura bits seld service on the table.
