France Day 6- Bordeaux

18 Oct 2019
This is the cherry pie I bought in St Jean de Luz.
Gateau Basque (2.50eur)

Had it for breakfast before headed off to Bordeaux.
Took 9.30am bus (Eurolines 9eur) to Bordeaux.
The bus was 40mins late with no notification... I have 2 booking with Eurolines this trip and the other one was late almost 2hrs. I will try to avoid them in future.
3h20m ride.

Bordeaux St Jean train station
From the train station to my Airbnb room is about 10mins by tram/ bus.
1.70eur per ride (must validate) or 5eur unlimited day pass.

28 Rue Moulinie (65.80eur for 2 nights)
Very nice host, although can't speak english but clean and helpful to show all amenities.
Attached bathroom and wash basin but toilet is just outside the room.

The location of my accommodation is ideal, 3mins walk to Rue St Catherine, and 19mins to Miroir d'Eau. There are also 3 supermarkets within 8mins walk.

My room is on the second level, groundfloor is where the caretaker's room, kitchen and laundry (free to use).
Rue Saint Catherine
The main shopping street in Bordeaux.
This is the popular Caneles store, one of the must try list in most travelog.
The queue is long comparing to other shops in this street.
Caneles de Bordeaux
Bought a big one (0.70eur) to try and feel normal, nothing special that worth that effort to queue.
St Andre Cathedral, Bordeaux

Creperie Gourmands
Ham and Cheese crepe (8.90eur)
One of the highly recommend shop in Tripadvisor but very mediocre.... I find Spain is easier to get good food comparing to France.
Port Calihau
Miroir d'Eau
Gate of Aquitane
Colonne de la Vigne et du Vin

Bought this chicken drumsticks with a bottle mineral water for 3.40eur for carrefour.
